Friday 3rd February - Fit to Ride Lecture with Sally Cinnamond.

This was a social, informative talk covering physiotherapy, massage, pilates and general fitness for both horse and rider. Sally proved to be very knowledgeable and experienced. She answered questions throughout the evening and was most entertaining. We were treated to tea and coffee, pasties, sausage rolls, nibbles and home made cakes. Many thanks to Sally and to Cathy, Caroline and Caroline F for the refreshments.

Dressage Training with Sandra Jones

We are organised a Dressage Training Clinic with Sandra Jones.  This was held at Sue Langley's sand school. Many thanks to Sue for the use of the facilities and also to Sandra for her excellent training. It was a brilliant day.

Christmas Drinks at the Devon Tors

This was a most enjoyable evening. Thank you to everyone who attended. Some great ideas came forward. It was a chance to meet new members and catch up with friends. 'Guess the number of sweets' was won by Frankie Foster.

AGM at the Devon Tors on Wednesday 9th November 2011 at 7.30pm

Our speaker this year was Lydia Lucas of Saxon Equestrian near Totnes. Lydia is an experienced Show Jumper and well known for bringing on young horses, she has a fun approach to training and is very popular as a coach. Lydia gave us a most informative talk accompanied by photos and video clips of her horses in training.

Members had been requested to bring their favourite photos from the year to make up a display. Lydia chose her favourite shots as Kallie 'smiling', Shady with 'bad hair' and Ziggy 'standing on tip-toe'.

Pauline gave her Chairman's report. She thanked all those who have helped and supported the club while she has been in office. She gave a brief run through of events and finished by announcing her retirement from the position. We thanked Pauline for all her hard work and she was later presented with a photo book, card and bouquet.

Cynthia gave the Treasurer's report. The club is financially stable despite funding towards all the various teams travelling to Championships.

Sally reported on the Show Jumping teams and talked about the day at Chyverton. Alex reported on the Dressage and ODE teams and Cynthia spoke about the trip to Aston Le Walls. Nicola reported that we have 44 senior members and 17 juniors. Additional people joined at the meeting. Jill talked about our camps and encouraged more people to join in.

There was a raffle and lovely buffet provided by the Devon Tors. After this we were treated to a Powerpoint slideshow all about the Juniors' trip to Hartpury kindly put on by Sam Underwood and Lucy Scott. This was followed by another very amusing slideshow from Cathy about Lincoln.

We elected Cynthia to remain as Treasurer and appointed Alex Ashton to the position of Chairman. We welcomed Caroline Furse and Cathy Harris onto the committee.

The Jeanette Wallace Memorial trophy was presented by Steve Wallace to Pauline for her hard work throughout the year. Team rosettes were given to all those who had represented the club. Special rosettes were given to Sandra Jones for her efforts at training the teams and also to Meredith Ball. Points awards as follows:
