NAF BRC National Championships

3 teams set off from West Devon RC on Friday 2nd Sept to make the long journey up to Lincolnshire Showground for the BRC National Champs. With everyone arriving in good spirits, we set about settling the horses and getting our bearings.. not forgetting the tent constructions!!

WDRC members qualified for 3 competitions; Style Showjumping, 90cm Showjumping & Senior Prelim Dressage, two of our members also amalgamated with another member from the Region to make an Area 19 100cm Showjumping team.

The team consisted of Aimee Bickley & Alice Kodritsch jumping the 85cm course and Amy Marlow & Jenn Cerqua jumping the 75cm course. Aimee's Sam decided he wasn't quite ready to cooperate and Jenn & Timmy didn't quite get the speed right picking up time penalties and a couple of poles to reduce their overall scores. Alice and Amy both had lovely clear rounds within time to bring the team back up to an overall 7th place out of 17 teams. Alice & Amy just fell outside the individual rankings placing at 11th each.

The team consisted of Aimee Bickley, Rachel Brockington, Caroline Allan and Jenn Cerqua and had 2 rounds to complete.

Round 1 saw the first 3 team members clip some poles but Caroline & Lance had an awesome clear round. Round 2 (live streamed on Horse & Country TV!) saw everyone pull out great rounds to bring the team into 7th place overall out of 19 teams.

Rachel and Caroline were joined another club member to form an Area 19 team. Caroline & Lance put in 2 strong rounds ending on 12 and Rachel had a fantastic 2nd round but unfortunately Susan had to retire. A good effort from all combinations!

All 3 team members gave a nice relaxed test but didn't make the ribbons this time.

Amy & Honey entered the Coloured Horse Class to be placed 8th overall... well done!

Huge thanks to our support team, Becky & Kevin Kodritsch and Vanessa Walker ... without you, it wouldn't have been possible to have such a fantastic weekend at BRC National Champs with everyone coming away with at least 1 frilly! well done everyone!!
